Our work around payroll tax provides Victorian employers with efficient services so they can better focus on their business.
From 1 July 2018, regional businesses benefited from a 2.425% payroll tax rate, which will progressively reduce over the next three years:
- From 1 July 2020, it will be 2.02%.
- From 1 July 2021, it will be 1.62%.
- From 1 July 2022, it will be 1.2125%.
We also implemented an exemption, available to for-profit organisations declared as approved group training organisations for wages paid to a new apprentices or trainees.
In coming years we will administer even more measures to support Victorian businesses, such as increasing the tax-free threshold for payroll tax to $675,000 in 2021-22 and to $700,000 in 2022-23.
